Welcome to Quail Meadow! Whether you are moving in full-time or making this your Florida retreat, we are glad you are here. The steps below will get you set up with the community and Vine Management.
Quail Meadow is a 55+ deed-restricted community tucked into the rolling horse country of northwest Ocala, Florida. The first homes went up in 1987 and most of the neighborhood was complete by 2006, with a handful of newer homes added through 2020. The result is 443 single-family homes on mature, oak-lined streets with a single, cohesive character throughout.
Every home in Quail Meadow is single-story, with two to four bedrooms and roughly 1,100 to 2,700 square feet of living space. The community is governed by the Quail Meadow Property Owners Association (QMPOA) and professionally managed by Vine Management, with a quarterly assessment of $110 per household that keeps common areas, the clubhouse, and the pool beautifully maintained.
Residents enjoy a quiet, walkable setting that is still minutes from everything. The community sits directly behind Publix, about a mile west of Interstate 75 on Highway 27, putting the World Equestrian Center (WEC), Walgreens, AdventHealth Ocala, and the shops and restaurants of downtown Ocala all a short drive away. Gainesville is about 40 minutes north, and Orlando is about an hour and a half south.
As the story has been told here for decades, the name came from the community's first survey. Walking the open pasture land (a meadow, in the surveyor's word), the original developer was told by a young man alongside him that he had hunted quail across that same ground. The two halves stuck together, and Quail Meadow has carried the name ever since.
Surrounded by the lush canopy of Ocala's horse country, and a short drive from Silver Springs State Park and the Ocala National Forest, Quail Meadow lives up to its name. Mornings open onto birdsong and green pastureland; afternoons unfold under the shade of live oaks. It is the kind of place where the Florida sun is warm, the shade is cool, and every season feels like a quiet, unhurried spring.

Quail Meadow sits on Highway 27 just west of I-75, a few minutes from the World Equestrian Center and a short drive from Ocala's springs, forests, and historic downtown.

The largest equestrian complex in the country sits just down Highway 27. General admission and parking are free, and most weeks bring hunter, jumper, dressage, and breed shows open to spectators. Between events, residents stop in for its restaurants, shops, and seasonal holiday lights.

Ocala calls itself the Horse Capital of the World, and it shows. Rolling thoroughbred farms with oak-lined fences stretch along Highway 27 and the roads northwest of town, making for some of the prettiest drives in Florida.
About 15 minutes east
The historic downtown square has local restaurants, shops, the Reilly Arts Center, and a calendar of concerts, markets, and festivals throughout the year.

One of the largest artesian springs in the world, famous for its glass-bottom boat tours, which run daily. Kayaking on the Silver River and shaded nature trails round out the visit.

Crystal-clear, 72-degree spring water near Dunnellon, with swimming, tubing, and paddling on the Rainbow River, plus gardens and waterfalls near the headspring.

Publix sits right behind the community. Paddock Mall, major retailers, and hospitals including AdventHealth Ocala and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital are a short drive away.
Easy I-75 access
Interstate 75 is about a mile away. Gainesville is roughly 40 minutes north, and Orlando and Tampa are each about an hour and a half away.

Dogs, cats, and other household pets are welcome, up to two per home. Keep pets leashed outside your fenced yard and pick up after them.
Golf carts are a common way to get around Quail Meadow, subject to community and Florida state rules.
All officers are elected volunteer residents. Please direct day-to-day questions to the Vine Management office. Board meetings are open to members, and the board welcomes resident input.
